1. Who we are#

SmartSeller ("SmartSeller", "we", "us") is an app for Shopify merchants operated by Piccinini Agencia de Publicidade Ltda., 1450 Rio Branco Street, Centro, Taquara, RS, Brazil (35.194.330/0001-40). For merchant account data and our website, we are the controller. For the personal data of your customers that we process on your behalf, you, the merchant, are the controller and we act as your processor (or "service provider") and follow your instructions.

2. Information we collect#

From your Shopify store, through the Shopify API, after you install the app:

  • Store information: store name, domain, currency, time zone, plan, staff account email of the person who installed the app.
  • Orders and transactions: order dates, line items, prices, discounts, refunds, taxes, shipping charges, payment gateway, fulfillment status.
  • Products and inventory: titles, variants, SKUs, prices, cost per item, inventory levels and locations, collections, tags.
  • Customer data, limited to what the analysis needs: Shopify customer and order IDs, order count, total spent, first and last order dates, and the city and state or region of each order for location reports. We don't store your customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or street addresses.
  • Discounts and segments that you create through the app.

Information you give us:

Product costs, operating expenses, cost rules, supplier lead times, plain-language notes you type to describe costs, settings, and messages you send to support.

From our website:

Contact form submissions, newsletter sign-ups, and basic usage data (pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location from IP) collected through Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

Information we do not collect:

Payment card numbers, your customers' payment details, or your Shopify password.

3. How we use information#

  • To provide the app: calculating profit, floors, break-even, inventory and demand insights, and carrying out the actions you confirm.
  • To keep the service secure and working: debugging, preventing abuse, monitoring performance.
  • To support you and send service messages (weekly digest, alerts, billing notices). You can turn off the digest anytime in Settings.
  • To improve SmartSeller, using aggregated or de-identified data only.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use your store data or your customers' data to train AI models.

4. AI features#

Some features (for example, turning "payroll was 2,620 this month" into a cost entry, or drafting campaign copy) send the relevant text and the minimum data needed to an AI model provider, Grok. That provider processes it under a contract that forbids using it to train its models. AI suggestions are always shown to you to review before anything is saved or changed in your store.

6. How we share information#

We share information only with:

  • Shopify, to operate the app inside your store, and for billing.
  • Service providers (sub-processors) that host and run SmartSeller for us, under written data protection terms. Current list:

We will update this list before adding a new sub-processor.

  • Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users' safety.
  • A buyer or successor in a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.

7. International transfers#

We are based in Brazil and our infrastructure runs in the US. When personal data moves across borders, we use appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms under the UK GDPR and Brazil's LGPD.

8. How long we keep information#

  • While the app is installed, we keep store data for as long as you use the service. Order history is kept for up to 24 months to power trends and comparisons.
  • When you uninstall, Shopify sends us a deletion request 48 hours later. We delete your store's data, including your customers' data, within 30 days of that request. Backups are overwritten within 35 days.
  • When one of your customers asks you to delete their data, Shopify notifies us and we delete it within 30 days.
  • Support messages are kept for 24 months. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires.

9. Your customers' privacy requests#

If one of your customers asks to see or delete their data, make the request through Shopify. Shopify forwards it to us automatically. We respond to data requests by giving the information to you, the merchant, and we complete deletions within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep the data.

10. Your rights#

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. To make a request, email hello@gosmartseller.com. We'll verify your request and answer within the time the law sets (usually 30–45 days). You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Security#

We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls and monitoring. See the Security page for details. If a security incident affects your data, we'll notify you without undue delay and as the law requires.

12. Cookies#

Our website uses Google Analytics 4 cookies to understand how visitors use the site. The app runs inside Shopify admin and uses session tokens provided by Shopify, not tracking cookies.

13. Children#

SmartSeller is a business tool and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.

14. Changes to this policy#

If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
